Bytømreren A/S expands business and acquires Artusbyg A/S
Since 2013, Artusbyg A/S has serviced businesses, public and private customers in the Vejle area with all types of craftsman and service tasks.
From day one, owners Jesper Jensen and Bent Olsen have shared ownership and have jointly built the company to today have 60 employees in the carpentry, masonry, painting and sewer trades.
The two founders of Artusbyg have now sold the majority of shares in the company to Bytømreren A/S. They each retain 15 percent of the shares and continue to have full responsibility for the day-to-day management. Artusbyg's name and logo remain unchanged.
As a result of the change of ownership, Artusbyg is an even stronger service and construction company. With the acquisition of Artusbyg, Bytømreren now has a total of 250 skilled employees.
Effective sales process in the craftsman business
Business Brokers Ole Jensen and Klaus Termansen assisted Artusbyg throughout the efficient and targeted sales process.
"There was the right chemistry between seller and buyer very early in the process, which contributed to good progress towards the change of ownership," explains Ole Jensen.
Business Brokers , on behalf of Artusbyg, carried out the entire sales process, including negotiation of a framework agreement and due diligence through to the final transfer of shares. According to Ole Jensen, this process ensures that there is now a solid foundation for good cooperation between Artusbyg and Bytømreren.
Praise for Business Brokers in the sales process
Actually, sellers Bent Olsen and Jesper Jensen had no plans to sell their craft business for a few years. But when Bytømreren approached them unsolicited, they decided it was an obvious opportunity to pursue.
"We've noticed that the industry is moving towards consolidation. That's why we thought it was worth going ahead when the buyer came knocking. We quickly realized that our way of doing business was a good fit with Bytømrerens," recalls Bent Olsen.
Although Artusbyg already had a potential buyer before Business Brokers became involved, the seller never had any doubts about seeking professional assistance in the sales process.
"We are skilled craftsmen, but we have never tried to sell a business. That's why we don't know how to read what is actually written in a bid letter or a transfer agreement. There were several instances along the way where we understood the buyer's proposal in one way, but where Business Broker the proposal for us, and it actually said something completely different. So Ole and Klaus' assistance meant that we got the deal we really wanted," emphasizes seller Bent Olsen.
Benefits for co-owners and employees of the craft business
According to Business Brokers , there is potential for synergy in the new corporate structure:
"With this change of ownership, the buyer and seller open doors for each other. With the purchase of shares in Artusbyg, Bytømreren gains direct access to the entire Triangle region. This allows them to realize their growth plans. For Artusbyg, it provides even more opportunities to serve business customers, housing associations and insurance companies," says Ole Jensen.
Salesman Bent Olsen agrees that the future looks bright for everyone at Artusbyg:
"With the sale of the majority shareholding, we have gained certainty that our company will remain strong despite increased competition. This motivates us to go the extra mile in the coming years. It's also very satisfying to know that we can offer our employees development opportunities after becoming part of a larger company."
