How long does a business sale take?
A business sale usually lasts 6-12 months. However, the duration of a structured sales process depends, among other things, on whether the company is sales-ready and healthy.
In other words, it's a good idea to continuously focus on the company's marketability.

Valuation of a business
Valuation of a business
What is the sales value of your business?
For small and medium-sized companies (typically with a value between DKK 25 and 250 million), we assess the value of the company based on a multiple calculation.
There are several things that affect the valuation. Most notably:
- Size of the company
- Business model
- Special skills
- Contracts
- Earnings
- Strategic potentials
- Risk assessment
- Cash flow
- The quality of documentation
- Dependency on a select few customers or key people.
A valuation is a stand-alone calculation that the company uses internally as a tool in the sales process. In some cases, a higher price can be successfully realized. A buyer who is looking to realize synergies by acquiring the company will typically offer a higher price than the stand-alone valuation.
Ultimately, the value of the company depends on who is buying and the buyer's motivation for acquisition.

Order a valuation of your business
If you would like an assessment of your company's sales value, Business Broker prepare a professional valuation. In practice, the real value of a company is only known once the final buyer has made their final bid. In the transactions that Business Broker been involved in over the past many years, the real value has been in line with or above our valuation in 80% of cases.
When we value, we need:
- Basic information about the company
- Company activities (market, customers, competitors, products, distribution, suppliers, partners)
- Last two annual reports with specifications or internal annual reports
- Budget or justified expectations for the current year and next year
- Information about customer spread
- Information about buildings, tenancy and ownership
- Information about any other owner-dependent relationships
- Information about organization.
The value calculation is part of our initial alignment of expectations and will be presented at our second non-binding meeting. Here you will also get an insight into what affects the sales value and thus an overview of how you can work to mature the company for sale.

Our fees
Our fees
What does it cost to sell a business? Of course, this is a question we often get asked. Just like when you sell a house, it depends on how much the business is being sold for. In addition, the complexity of the business has an impact on our base fee.
We charge a basic fee for analysis, research and presentation material as well as any expenses. In addition, we charge a share of the transaction value that covers project management, buyer dialog and negotiations. This part is settled according to the "no cure - no fee" principle. This means that if we don't sell the company, you don't pay for it either.
We define the specific fee and conditions and present it to you before you sign a collaboration agreement.

4 non-binding steps before choosing an advisor
4 non-binding steps before choosing an advisor
Selling a business is largely a matter of trust and personal chemistry. We at Business Broker have great respect for this. That is why we meet several times before you commit to working with us. We complete a total of four non-binding steps before agreeing on anything:
- When you contact us, we typically have an initial dialog by phone or Teams.
- We meet in person, and you introduce us to your business, just as Business Broker how we work with sales processes, find potential buyers, calculate value, etc. Together, we determine whether the chemistry between us is right.
- If the chemistry is good, we'll now gain insight into the company's key financial figures. We'll make a professional calculation of the company's value and what net proceeds you can expect from a sale.
- We meet again in person and align expectations. You will receive a quote for our fee to handle the sales process.
Only then will we draw up a sales mandate agreement and start the sales process. You will be assigned two permanent advisors fromBusiness Brokers .
So there's plenty of time to find out if we are the right advisors for you and your business.
